May 19-20th, 11:45pm EST 12:45pm Japan.

Well, here begins probably one of the greatest adventures of my lifetime. I'm currently on a large, double-decker plane flying to Taipei, Taiwan via Tokyo, Japan. I have been sedated since 8am this morning with an absolutely terrible headache {...}I'm finally feeling functional now.

So about out travels, we left New York City around 2:20pm. (Our plane was late taking off). We flew over Toronto, Northern Alaska, and we are now tracing our way down the Russian coastline. We crossed the international dateline around an hour or two ago so it is now tomorrow where I am.

The plane has a camera at the bottom so you can see the clouds, and a GPS map to show you where you are on the route. As I'm writing this, we are flying at 30,000 feet and are crossing between the large island off the coast of Russia and continental Russia. {looking at a map now it appears that it is actually a penisula near the sea of Okhotsk, apparently called Kamchatka} According to the clock we should be landing at 3:49pm which is about a half hour before we were supposed to. The outside air temperature is -50 degrees F.
